Waking Life* (Richard Linklater, 2001)
Zodiac* (David Fincher, 2007)

Hmm. I sense a pattern. I'll predict two films for May and one for June. Ha.

Hi Diane! I have to know how you responded to Chainsaw. I expected to hate it, but it's a touchstone film for me. If you want to know what it's like to work for Stanley Steemer in Alabama, just watch Chainsaw.
I don't know if you saw my count for April on the A&F page, but we tied. And that was three more films than I finished in March.
Well, Aaron, I spent most of the film in a semi-fetal position on the couch, so I guess I was a bit traumatized. Heh. It was definitely effective! I was most surprised by the cinematography (I'm especially thinking of the shot underneath the swing and the closeups of the girl's eye). Interesting work there, to be sure. I'd been warned about the film and even offered a chance to stop it whenever I said the word, but I made it through on the first watch, so yay for me.
Stef, my prodigal blog reader! What has become of us?

But alas, phases turn, and so shall we.
